Indonesians sue Swiss firm over climate change I DW News

As sea levels rise due to human-caused global warming, the homes and livelihoods of millions of people in low-lying areas are coming under threat. Often the biggest sources of the greenhouse gases that raise global temperatures are half-a-world away from the worst-affected areas.

The plaintiffs say that global emissions caused by Holcim have contributed to sea level rise around their home, Pari island. They want the Swiss firm to pay up – and to cut emissions.
