One-third of a village in India is seriously sick from unchecked pollution | DW News
In a village just north of Delhi, sickness seems to touch every family. Some are adults, but most, around a third of Gangnauli’s youth report serious illnesses. Physical deformities, neurological problems, even cancer.
The villagers say they’ve identified the cause — years of unchecked pollution from nearby factories that has contaminated their drinking water. They’ve even won a court case over the issue. But they say authorities have failed to do anything to help them.
