The Jan. 6 Committee voted on Thursday to subpoena former President Donald Trump to provide documents as well as testimony in connection to the Capitol attack.
“We are obligated to seek answers directly from the man who set this all in motion, and every American is entitled to those answers so we can act now to protect our republic,” said Committee Vice Chair Rep. Liz Cheney who introduced a resolution to subpoena the former president.
The committee, comprised of seven Democrats and two Republicans, passed the resolution unanimously at the end of Thursday’s Jan. 6 committee hearing.
