7 Architecture Facts pt.41 | Kevin Bacon, 看法 & Gaudi
This is a video about 7 facts in architecture. They are as follows; Edmund Bacon, 建築師, urban planner, and father of famous actor Kevin Bacon, once said, “It’s in the doing that the idea comes.” Meaning, good ideas don’t just happen from thinking, they come from the hard work of doing; The “bird’s-eye” perspective was used long before the advent of CAD and 3-D rendering. 然而, digital tools have made any view possible with just a mere click. An architect’s office uses these images to give the client, and its own designers, a unique viewpoint of a building to develop and sell ideas; The Composite order is one of the five classical Roman orders. The capital is unique because it combines the volutes of the Ionic order and the acanthus leaves of the Corinthian. The column may also be fluted; Sometimes walls have wood panels or lining at the lower portion. This is called a dado or wainscot. The panels can be finished with a baseboard at the bottom and a dado rail, more commonly known as a chair rail, at the top; There are three answered questions that inform the architect’s design process: (Who?) Details about a client and their programmatic requirements; (什麼?) The type and style of architecture a client desires; (Where?) The specifics of a site or property such as topography, 氣候, and infrastructure; Construction of Antonio Gaudí’s La Sagrada Família began in 1882, and it’s still under construction. The design appears to be based on botanical and geological forms such as trees, seashells, 海洋, 沙, and rocky cliffs; Antonio Sant’Elia was an Italian futurist. His dramatic perspective drawings opened an innovative window into a world of fantasy and heralded an aesthetic direction for architects and buildings of the future.
