A Magical Bus Ride Through the Christmassy Berlin

A magical bus ride through Berlin – despite the rain and fogged-up windows, Kurfürstendamm is a-glitter with lights, as it always is at Christmas.

今年, the city has limited its use of festive light decorations, owing to the energy crisis. 140,000 LED lights – known for their energy efficiency – have been used, and are switched off at 10 pm instead of midnight. That means you can still ride along Berlin’s popular shopping boulevard and soak up some holiday cheer – including taking in the view of the Christmas market on Breitscheidplatz!

Interesting fact: The city of Berlin declined to pay for the light installation this year, and private sponsors took on the task.
