Learn about the art and artistic process of Kayla Powers, a weaver and natural dyer living and working in Detroit, 密歇根州.

Her work is focused on local, natural color derived from plants foraged from and cultivated in the city. Preservation of the traditional crafts of weaving and dyeing are at the heart of Kayla’s work. She is inspired by the limitations of a seasonal palette and the utilitarian nature of woven cloth.
