Applications are now open for the Choreodrome 2020 Research Residencies!!

This is the Place’s annual residency programme for professional performance makers, based in the UK. Makers are invited to spend time at The Place and to explore new artistic territory with no pressure to have a finished product at the end.

If you are selected for a Choreodrome research residency, you will receive:

· Between 1-2 weeks of studio time during July and September

· £1000 to support your residency

· Free hire of technical equipment

· Studio sharings and facilitated feedback sessions

· Weekly lunchtime get-togethers with other artists

Additionally, artists can apply for support from the following Choreodrome strands:

Reading Room residencieswhere artists will receive an additional £500 and 15 hours in the Reading Room at the Wellcome Collection

Artists4Artists programme – for artists working with Hip Hop; these artists will receive a tailored package of support from industry professionals with a Hip Hop theatre background.
You can apply for a Choreodrome Research Residency if you:

· Have been creating performance work in a professional setting for a minimum of 3 年

· Are based in the UK

· Have a piece of work you want to develop, this could be new or existing work.

· Are an artist working with any kind of performance with movement at the core

· Can demonstrate how the residency will benefit you as an artist

· Are ambitious to challenge yourself, your collaborators and us

很遺憾, you are not eligible if you:

· Are an undergraduate

· Are based outside the UK

· Or your project is the production or post-production of dance film
For the next round of Choreodrome Research Residencies we are looking for all kinds of new ideas from many different areas of dance and choreography; this could be work for stage, outdoor work, or work for families.

We are open to all sorts of projects and we especially want to hear from artists who are currently underrepresented in dance such as artists with disabilities, artists from financially disadvantaged background, artists from Minority ethnic groups, artists with care responsibilities and artists who are LGBTQIA+.

If Choreodrome sounds like it’s right for your project – complete an application any time between Monday 2nd December and midnight on the 19th of January 2020. Shortlisted artists will be invited to interview.
