Jovair’s classes are somatic based and deals with both the technical and the performative aspects of movement. He often combines improvisation, partnerwork and set movement in the same class. He works with the senses and the different layers of the dancer’s attention both as a movement source and as a way of supporting the performers’ presence in the space. He breaks down different aspects of movement and partnerwork for detailed investigation through improvisation and also through set movement phrases.
