Having recently moved to a new apartment, I woke up early one morning in the spring of 2021 with the refrain “we haven’t made any money in months and every penny we saved, burned up” playing in my head. It had been quite some time since we’d been able to gig as musicians so I brought the idea to Brea to be fleshed out. What came out of the session was ‘Brand New Day’ a celebratory anthem for all those who may have struggled to pay rent or keep their jobs during the pandemic
