How I wound up in a prison in Vilnius

You may recognize this building from the Netflix series Stranger Things: Lithuania’s infamous Lukiškės Prison was one of the series‘ shooting locations. Following that, the old jail – itself only closed in 2019 – became famous around the world. During the Nazi era, opponents of the regime and Jews were imprisoned here; today it serves as a memorial site and cultural center, open for public visits.⁠
