最近中國大陸和台灣之間的緊張局勢也對一個有些隱蔽的社區產生了影響 – south-east Asian migrant workers in Taiwan. According to official records, there’s nearly 700,000 of them working on the self-governing islands. Most of them are from Vietnam, Indonesia or the Philippines and they work mostly in factories and as caregivers. But the uptick in tensions across the Taiwan Straits has left them worried for their future in the event of a dangerous escalation.
