Hu Xiangcheng: 藝術家聲明 “亞洲特大城市”

“Looking at the past helps me understand the present day.” Shanghai-based Hu Xiangcheng scours used wood markets for windows and doors from dismantled houses from the Ming (1368-1644) and Qing (1644-1911) eras. He then creates building-size structures that invite visitors to wander through. See his installation in “亞洲特大城市,” on view through July 17.
