‘It has to stop now’: hospitality employees strike over conditions

McDonald’s, TGI Fridays and Wetherspoon employees are among workers taking strike action to demand better working conditions across the hospitality sector. The TUC general secretary, Frances O’Grady, backed them, saying: ‘These are often young workers who increasingly feel they have nothing to lose. They are on low pay, often without training and often on zero-hour contracts
