Oberammergau in Germany and its World-famous Passion Play | Why they don’t shave here for year

Meet Jesus in Bavaria: The world’s best-known passion play has been taking place in the village of Oberammergau every ten years since 1634. In it, 一些 2,000 villagers enact the final days in the life of Jesus Christ. To add a touch of authenticity, male protagonists are barred from shaving or visiting the barber for a whole year! DW’s Lukas Stege went to Oberammergau to experience this extraordinary event – and even got himself a selfie with Jesus.
Watch the video until the end to see Lukas riding the Alpine Coaster from Kolbensattel Mountain!
