巴黎’ Famous Bookshop Shakespeare & 公司

To this day, one of the most famous bookstores in Paris provides sanctuary to literary vagabonds known as Tumbleweeds. Shakespeare & Co has hosted the likes of Allen Ginsberg, Anaïs Nin and James Baldwin. The tradition was established by founder George Whitman, who ploughed all his savings into the store and was so broke, he was forced to sleep there on a pullout couch. Thereafter, if a writer needed a bed for the night, he’d allow them to stay.
Would you fancy living in a bookstore for a while?
