Poland and the War – now and back then: Lukas Stege visits Gdańsk and the Westerplatte

Tourist numbers in Poland have been falling since the beginning of the Russian war against Ukraine. No wonder, since Ukraine is right next door. What does it feel like to go on vacation in Poland despite the times we live in?
DW’s Lukas Stege takes a look around Gdańsk and then moves on to the Westerplatte peninsula close by, where the Second World War began on September 1st, 1939. Watch Lukas on his trip to Poland in May 2022.
