Sri Lanka’s interim government has reimposed a curfew, a day after angry crowds stormed government buildings.

The prime ministerwho is now acting presidenthas ordered security forces to restore calm. Protesters have agreed to leave government buildings, as people still wait for the official resignation of President Gotabaya Rajapaksha. He fled the country while it is going through a devastating economic crisis.

Sri Lanka is descending into chaos and parliament has been unable to enact reforms. Harini Amarasuriya, a parliamentarian for the National People’s Power party talks to DW.
