茶與對話: 藏傳佛教聖地

This conversation was recorded on Wednesday, 六月 10, 2020.

Get a peek inside the museum’s Tibetan Buddhist shrine room and learn about the cultural and religious significance of the shrine’s objects in this special virtual experience. Buddhist shrines are often filled with images of enlightened beings and powerful deities and offerings. Shrines can be found in small domestic altars, city-center stupas, and mountaintop cave throughout the Himalayas. This virtual talk explores the different practices that take place within and around Tibetan Buddhism’s sacred spaces. Speakers include Rebecca Bloom, a co-curator of the exhibition Encountering the Buddha, scholar Khamo Kyi, and Margaux Ruon, Alice S. Kandell Fellow in Thangka Conservation.
