Admission Fee for Venice: Yay or Nay? #shortsfeed #venice

Would you pay to visit Venice? The Italian lagoon city is about to trial a new fee system. According to the plan, from early 2024 day trippers coming to the city on weekends and public holidays will have to pay an admission fee of 5 Euros. Venetian authorities hope it’ll go some way to curbing mass tourism. The large number of visitors is one reason why UNESCO is considering classifying Venice as a World Heritage Site in danger.
