柏林: Festival of Lights Despite Energy Crisis?

Berlin’s Festival of Lights is currently taking place despite appeals from the government to save electricity because of the energy crisis—though, in a reduced format. Only half the number of locations will be illuminated this year, and the projections will only run until 11 p.m. instead of midnight like before. According to the organizers, the privately funded event uses 75 percent less electricity than last year thanks to LED technology.

What do you think? Is it a good thing that the festival is still going ahead or is it an untimely waste of energy?
