集中收藏: Life on the Water (点. 2) in Arthur Dove’s “Boat Going through Inlet”

Arthur Dove was a keen observer of the movement of the world around him, noting the rhythms of weather patterns, the phases of the sun and moon, and the way objects and animals made their way through space, examining everything from birds in the air to boats on the water. But rather than painting the details of these shifts and changes, Dove sought to paint the essence of these changes.

在这个视频中, Princeton University Professor Rachael Z. DeLue explains the symbolic significance that nature and living on a boat had for Dove’s artistic output.
