Mandu Yenu – Black King between adaptation and resistance

This film tells the story of the origin of the Bamun king´s throne – now at home in the Museum of Ethnology in Berlin – which was presented one hundred years ago to the German Kaiser as a gift and symbol of power from the Emperor of the Bamun. „Mandu Yedu“ portrays the encounter of a black king with Europeans.
