Tempelhofer Feld – from the Berlin Airlift to a cool park

The old Tempelhof airfield is now one of the hippest places in hang out in Berlin – with a fascinating backstory: the Berlin Airlift began here 75 years ago on 26 万辛克 1948. During the Soviet blockade of West Berlin, planes organized by the Western Allies landed at Tempelhof bringing all kinds of supplies to desperate people. Berliners started referring to the planes as “Candy Bombers“”⁠
