在馬雅預言的末日前夕，有一個消息不脛而走：「法國山中布嘉拉村將是唯一受眷顧的避難聖地！」於是，世界各地的人紛紛湧向這座原本寧靜無爭的小鎮；有人紮營笙歌，有人苦行祈禱，有居民憤怒抗議，也有個小小魔術師想趁機一鳴驚人。而這一切的混亂，竟疑似跟村長有關…
Nothing ever really happens in Bugarach, a small bucolic village in Southern France, until the news story circulates around the globe that it will be the last shelter on the planet to survive the December 21th apocalypse foretold by the Mayans. The film dives deep into the subject of the apocalypse to reflect on the fears and coping strategies of humankind in times of deep spiritual crisis in the West.
