從外表看起來，時尚攝影師馬克似乎擁有人人羨嫉的精彩紐約客生活。他總是穿得無懈可擊，光鮮亮麗地出沒在電影場景和各式頂級派對之中。但當夜深人靜之後，他會默默前往東村隱匿的屋頂天台，那是他不為人知的「家」。在看似無限美好的美國夢的背後，是一個冷酷的無情城市。
From all outside appearances, Mark seems to have the glamorous New York City life. A charismatic former male model working as a fashion photographer, he appears in movies and attends the best parities. However, a hidden corner of a rooftop in East Village is the only place where he can go to sleep each night, and this is how the dark underbelly of the American Dream in an often-merciless city is exposed before our eyes.
