日本政府於二戰戰敗前夕向琉球下達「玉碎令」，以脅迫方式要求當地居民集體自盡。透過倖存者和當地居民的證詞，以及作家大江健三郎受日本皇軍指揮官家屬指控的法律案件研究，導演朴壽南試圖釐清這被官方隱瞞已久的真相，也讓琉球人時為日本殖民之韓人的悲慘經歷再次重見天日。
Director Park Soo-nam reconstructs the narrative of the Okinawan “gyokusai”—the group suicides ordered by the military during the Second World War. This documentary brings the difficulties and pain experienced by the Okinawan and Korean people to light.
