Barcelona in 48 hours – by Anja Hitzenberger & Edward Ratcliff & David Zambrano

David Zambrano is a mad choreographer, a dancer that knows no limits. He rushes from one city to the next, from performances to workshops to projects. He is incessantly in a state of lift off and landing. New York photographer Anja Hitzenberger (originally from Salzburg) and musician and composer Edwin Ratliff made a 28 minute short film called “David Zambrano: Barcelona in 48 Hours” about the nomadic artist Zambrano, a dancer driven to fly at low altitudes. Put together almost entirely by using individual photographs carefully mounted with manic meticulousness in three years of hard work, the film itself has been on tour since 2002. Hitzenberger and Ratliff have created this portrait of an artist as an interplay of dance, film, photography and live music and realized a multimedia performance in which Zambrano himself makes an onstage appearance.
