The internet has radically transformed the way extremist groups organise themselves. Exploiting the tools at their disposal and taking advantage of susceptible people who might have been out of reach before, their ability to manipulate poses a direct threat to society and politics. Counter-extremism expert Julia Ebner shares her experience of going undercover to infiltrate these groups and what she learnt from her time in some of the darkest corners of the web.
