Creating a Sonic Dialogue Between Sculptures: Artist, Musician and Filmmaker Luke Fowler

Presented May 12, 2018 at Nasher Sculpture Center

Artist, filmmaker and musician Luke Fowler speaks about his new work, which draws upon focused listening and architectural acoustics to create a multi-channel sound installation in the Nasher Garden. Commissioned jointly by Nasher Sculpture Center and Lismore Castle Arts, Ireland, Fowler’s resonant sound composition uses everyday objects and acoustic environments to examine the material history and auditory qualities of each site.

The Nasher Sculpture Center’s ongoing 360 Speaker Series features conversations and lectures on the ever-expanding definition of sculpture. Guests are invited to witness first-hand accounts of the inspiration behind some of the world’s most innovative artwork, architecture and design.
