Facebook parent company Meta sued over Ethiopia violence • FRANCE 24 English

Facebook’s parent company Meta is being sued in Kenya for $1.6 billion USD for fuelling ethnic violence in Ethiopia. The petitioners accuse the company of allowing vitiriol to flourish on its platforms, stoking the fires of the ongoing conflict in Tigray. They’re also seeking a further 400 million dollars for similar harm coming from sponsored posts. Our correspondent in Kenya Vivanne Wandera brings up this update.
