Hey Dude…I have talent…I’m just… – by Vera Mantero & Robyn Orlin

Two choreographers in African slums: the fluid choreographic field of experiment that Vera Mantero (Portugal) and the most highly provocative dance artist in South Africa, Robyn Orlin, are brought together in the collaborative project “hey dude… i have talent … i’m just waiting for god…” On this project, Orlin says, “We want to
see how the people in the slums manage to survive in a resourceful and creative manner.” Both artists share a deep
interest in social realities, radical poetics and unconventional
formats for presenting on stage. Both are also oriented toward the richness and depths of everyday life. Last but not least, both think politically. One thing seems to be clear: “hey dude … i have talent … i’m just waiting for god…” promises to intense, unruly and extremely moving.
