Composer, arranger and producer Hughes de Coursons albums Mozart in Egypt 1 & 2 are all-time best sellers with over half a million copies sold worldwide. Aside from the popular Mozart project, Hughes de Courson has explored the fusion of musical cultures in other cross-over albums, the highlights of which are featured on this compilation: OStravaganza, an encounter between Vivaldi and Celtic music, Songs of Innocence, childrens folk songs from every corner of the world and Lux Obscura, a phantasmagorical journey through time that pulls chants of the Middle Ages into the 21st Century. The compilation also boasts tracks from Lambarena – Bach to Africa (in which he and the Gabonese singer-composer Pierre Akendengue mix traditional African sources with the music of JS Bach, in homage to Albert Schweitzer), as well as Palestrinas Missa primi toni and a track from his modern flamenco mix album Lágrimas de cera.
