Martin Kohlstedt – JUL (live in a corridor)

Played live on a Yamaha CP70 piano in a never ending hallway of Weimar, Germany. This one-take was filmed by Lena Tabea Matthias on an Iphone. The original piece is taken from his album FLUR.

JUL is a companion of mine for many years now – appearing when things changed fundamentally, when it felt like something new was about to happen just to merrily disappear again a little later without ever taking shape, really. FLUR as a whole album in context with the other pieces now offered the proper habitat for JUL to stay and develop into a proper piece.
