Mauritius: Rights groups warn of climate of repression • FRANCE 24 English

Rights groups in Mauritius have warned of a growing climate of repression and insecurity against government critics and journalists. Earlier this month, anti-corruption activist Bruno Laurette was arrested at his home near the capital Port Louis. Police said they found 40 kilogrammes of hashish in his possession — but he says it was all set up.
