Multimedia Artist Talk: Kehinde Wiley and DJ Spooky
Among today’s most innovative and successful painters, Kehinde Wiley is known throughout the world for his vivid portraits of African American men and women that use the conventions of traditional European portraiture. The portraits raise questions about race, gender, and the politics of representation. Join Wiley in an interactive multimedia talk exploring the scope and meaning of his work on view in the mid-career survey Kehinde Wiley: A New Republic. A performance by special guest Paul D. Miller, aka DJ Spooky, and a Q&A session follow the talk.
This event took place at the Brooklyn Museum on Thursday, April 16, 2015.
