Rose Sexton, Of Us and Art: The 100 Videos Project, Episode 70

In his 1603 play Othello, Shakespeare evokes purity, beauty, and honesty with images of light, and evil and treachery with those of darkness. Sexton investigates how such symbolism continues to function today through materials laden with associations based on their physical properties—specifically, how they elevate or deprecate a space depending on their use in our designed and built world.
