San Francisco Zen Center Meditation Session with Dan Zigmond

Learn how to meditate with the San Francisco Zen Meditation Center. This virtual session for beginners will introduce you to the benefits of meditation, which can help settle the body and mind amid the swirl of daily life. Sitting in a balanced posture creates a steady calm that, with training, can become the way you meet whatever arises.

San Francisco Zen Center was established in 1962 by Shunryu Suzuki Roshi, the author of the modern spiritual classic, Zen Mind, Beginner’s Mind.
The Zen Center on Page Street in San Francisco offers daily meditation, regular monastic retreats and practice periods, classes, lectures, and workshops. The Zen Center’s programs also reach out to the community, helping prisoners, the homeless, and those in recovery; protecting the environment; and working for peace.

Dan Zigmond is a Zen teacher who has taught at the San Francisco Zen Center, Ji-koji Zen Center, and other temples in the Bay Area and beyond. He is also a data scientist who has worked at several local tech companies including Instagram, Facebook, YouTube, and Google. Dan recently published a book on mindfulness, meditation, and work called Buddha’s Office: The Ancient Art of Waking Up While Working Well.
