Também is an experimental Latin pop group based in Durham, NC. Characterized by escalating trance-like polyrhythms, beautiful harmonies, and interwoven percussive parts, their music captures complex shades of joy, poverty, love, and grief. Ingrid Knight and Deborah Rosengarth began this endeavor in 2018 over a mutual love for Brazilian jazz and their first songs exemplified samba and bossa nova styles. It soon became clear, however, that they were meant to create something more…daring. Over the past several years their vision started to coalesce with the addition of two more members and they now present to the world a unique blend of North and South American music with major influences in pop and jazz.
