A man accused of working for a notorious Gambian death squad run by former president Yahya Jammeh goes on trial in Germany on the principle of universal jurisdiction. Bai Lowe is accused of murdering renowned journalist Deyda Hydara in 2004. Also in this edition, African leaders congratulate French President Emmanuel Macron on his reelection.
