WATCH: Trump indicted. Here’s what we know

Former President Donald Trump has been indicted in New York in connection with hush-money payments made during the 2016 campaign, according to his attorney. With the grand jury’s Thursday vote to indict Trump, he becomes the first former U.S. president to face criminal charges.

Trump’s lawyers said they will “vigorously fight” the indictment against the former president.

Lisa Desjardins explains more on the charges and what this means. This post was produced and edited by Tim McPhillips, Julia Griffin, Yasmeen Alamiri, Steff Staples and Dan Cooney.
