White Earth – North Dakota’s Oil Boom from Children’s Perspectives (Documentary, 2013)

An American oil boom, a desperate migration and a hard winter… through a child’s eyes

Thousands of people travel to North Dakota in search of work, hoping to make good money as oil workers. But the winter is hard and the children don’t get enough time with their parents, some of them don’t even go to school as they spend most of their time at home alone, trying to pass the time by playing video games or taking care of the family’s animals.
