Cambodian autocratic leader to hand power to eldest son in predetermined election

After 38 years in charge, Cambodian leader Hun Sen transfers power to his son, Hun Manet, in a pre-ordained “election” – or you might call it a selection – in what is essentially a one-party autocracy.

According to the ruling Cambodia People’s Party, the son won in a landslide, against a largely absent opposition. DW’s Georg Matthes reports from Phnom Penh.
