Lecture: Art & Social Emotional Learning | Evening for Educators

In this interactive-style presentation, Los Angeles educator Monique Marshall discusses the intersection of art, Social Emotional Learning (SEL), and anti-bias education.

Monique Marshall is the founder of Monique Marshall Strategy and Consulting LLC (https://mmscequity.com) and an elementary school educator who has been working with young children in independent schools for 30 years. She is dedicated to increasing awareness and competency around creating multicultural curriculum and inclusive school culture in the early years of children’s development.

Evenings for Educators is a professional development program for K–12 teachers focusing on LACMA’s permanent collection and special exhibitions. Each session presents strategies for incorporating the visual arts into the classroom with activities that explore the artistic process, approach works of art as primary sources, and emphasize parallels between the visual arts and core content areas.
