Lecture: STEAM | Evenings for Educators

STEAM (Science, Technology, Engineering, Art, and Math) education engages students in the creative process across subjects and prepares them to be 21st century leaders and innovators. In this interactive presentation, CEO Dr. Leah Hanes of STEAM education nonprofit Two Bit Circus Foundation shares how teachers can guide student inquiry, creativity, and critical thinking with STEAM.

Evenings for Educators is a professional development program for K–12 teachers focusing on LACMA’s permanent collection and special exhibitions. Each session presents strategies for incorporating the visual arts into the classroom with activities that explore the artistic process, approach works of art as primary sources, and emphasize parallels between the visual arts and core content areas.
