What Hygienic Tattooing Materials do you use or have you used and why?
In this video I touch base on the hygienic side of tattooing, but more so I touch base on the materials I use, why I use them and the logic behind why I use the materials that I do upon tattooing.
From my first day of tattooing to now, I have seen so many red flags and no no’s that never would have crossed my mind. I have seen people use regular house rags for tattoo wipes, I have seen people use rolls of toilet paper to wipe freshly broken skin, I’ve seen people use contact cases for ink cups and I am certain there is so much I have not seen.
I have seen so much scary stuff out there it can rather discouraging for anyone out there wanting to get a tattoo or get into tattooing. By going to the bare bone basics allows us to focus on the what’s and whys of different materials that we can use to better our hygienic practices.
Hygienic Tattooing Materials is something I don’t see many tattooist talk about I suppose that maybe due to tattooing sacred nature and is typically learned under the wing of someone that is knowledgeable in tattooing, aka an apprenticeship.
This reason could vary but I have seen some unusual and unhealthy unhygienic tattooing practices so I feel by sharing with you all how I protect myself and my clients would be a great place to start.
