Architecture Speaker Series: Peter MacKeith “Aalto’s Identities”

This lecture, titled “Aalto’s Identities,” presents the life and work of the Finnish architect, Alvar Aalto, one of the twentieth century’s canonical figures in architecture and design, through multiple lenses: biography, building analysis, and cultural appraisal.

Peter MacKeith joined the University of Arkansas Fay Jones School of Architecture as Dean and Professor of architecture in July 2014. He has served on the Fay Jones School’s Professional Advisory Board since 2011. Since 1990, MacKeith has worked as a liaison between the architectural cultures of the United States and the Nordic nations, especially Finland, in design practice, research, publication, education, and exhibition.

A nationally recognized design educator, Mackeith was previously Associate Dean and Professor of architecture at the Sam Fox School of Design & Visual Arts at Washington University in St. Louis, from 1999-2014.
